"For the advocate is judged by the response of those whose minds he seeks to change, and nothing is more likely to spoil his persuasive effect than to be caught out in a factual mistake, especially if the fact relates to a precedent of which the hearer has independent knowledge. 'It wasn't that way' easily transforms itself into 'The whole case must be wrong.'" - Neustadt and May in Thinking in Time (Free Press 1986)

Capital Punishment

Thursday November 14th
TIME: 7:30-9:00 p.m.  (6:30 for dinner!)

  1. What are the requirements for the state to be qualified to dish out death?
  2. How often must the state be correct in its judgement?
  3. How often has the state executed men who were not actually guilty of the crime for which they were killed?
  4. How should Christians deal with death row inmates?
  5. How a Christian treat those sentenced to die for crimes against that Christian and/or his family?
  6. What should a Christian feel when one sentenced to die is being killed?
